KPK questions ministry officials in social assistance graft case – Politics

orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators questioned officials from the Social Affairs Ministry as witnesses in a social assistance corruption case on Monday.

“The questioning was held at the KPK headquarters on Rosehan Ansyari, head of the prevention sub-directorate at the ministry’s social protection for victims of social disaster directorate,” KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika said on Monday, as reported by Antara news agency.

Two other officials being questioned, both from the social protection and security directorate general, were Firmansyah, head of the verification and accounting subdivision and Robbin Saputra, staff member at the finance division.

The officials were questioned related to an alleged corruption case in the distribution of rice social aid for families listed in the Hope Family Program (PKH) in the 2020-2021 period, causing state losses of Rp 127 billion (US$7.74 million).

The KPK has prosecuted six defendants in the case who have been sentenced to prison terms by the Jakarta Corruption Court.

They are former executives of PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa, president director M. Kuncoro Wibowo, commercial director Budi Santoso and vice president of operations April Churniawan.

Other defendants on trial are executives at PT Mitra Energi Persada: president director Ivo Wongkaret, general manager Richard Cahyanto and advisor Roni Ramdhani.
